THE StoneAgemag REMIX FLAG OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES
The original flag of the City of Los Angeles was designed in 1931. Ordinance 70,000 officially established the City’s own flag, then known as the "Fiesta Flag"
on July22, 1931, designed for the City's 150th birthday (Sesqui-Centennial). The flag was Remixed by AXE, k4y0 and N30 of StoneAgeMAG.com on Sept 11 2009
to promote the relaunch of StoneAgemag.com and their love of their city.
The 8' x 12' banner has a taffeta background of notched stripes of red, golden-yellow, and green. The red represents the Blood of the Natives (genocide),
the golden-yellow depicts the Stolen Gold (colonialism), and the green symbolizes land (mother earth). The colors of the flag are also found in the flags of
Spain, Mexico, and Rastafari whose past was very important in the early history of Los Angeles. The replica of the City Seal is shown in the center of the flag.
The seal of StoneAgeMAG.com Los Angeles contains the coat of arms of the Stone Age Crew from the city of Los Angeles, a city in the U.S. state of California.
The shield is encircled by the legal name of the city (City of Los Angeles) and its Re-mixers website (www.StoneAgeMAG.com).
Creating the circle, flanking the shield, is A phonographic record signifying respect to the musicians who blessed us and continue to influence.
The arms are quarterly:
- upper left: the Stone Age Box Logo signifying our Independence and Unity.
- upper right: the California BBoy (a field argent with California BBoy at bay, 45 rpm phonographic record) signifying those who break it down.
- lower left: the StoneAge MPC 2008 version (an Musical Production Center used by many producers of our time to make beats), signifying the city's history under Hiphop.
- lower right: the arms of Mic and Spray Can, signifying the city's history for Rockin the Spot.
