| | | | | The Apple Tablet Rumors
Apple Tablet rumors have been heating up this past month. Barely a day goes by without new information arising. Never before have so many Apple Tablet rumors hit the scene in such short succession and we believe the Apple Tablet is imminent. The possible 10.7" screened device may be announced as soon as January. Experts are expecting the announcement of the Tablet on January 26th and product to start shipping sometime in March. According to a former Apple employee we “will be very surprised how interact with the new tablet.” Apple could be stepping up the touch-screen game with a virtual keyboard you can feel. They already hold a patent for the technology. If used in a tablet the keyboard with indent when pressed giving the feel of true tactile keys. Lastly we need a name for the device. It was recently discovered that Apple owns islate.com so might the tablet be an iSlate - even though some small mysterious company already holds that trademark? | | | | | Use a Bluetooth KB with Your iPhone There have been projects many times in the past claiming to make the iPhone and iPod Touch compatible with Bluetooth keyboards. Most of these "supposed" projects never really reached any kind of real-world conclusion until now. Currently available on Cydia is a Bluetooth keyboard driver called BTstack Keyboard Demo which allows you to connect many different HID keyboards to the iPhone! The full version is on its way very soon. | | | | | Mozilla's Own AppStore? Mozilla seems to be VERY interested in the mobile app store market and seems confident that they will kill off all mobile app stores with their project code-name Fennec. "Fennec," or "Firefox Mobile," will allow applications to be created once and work on all mobile platforms supported by Firefox Mobile including iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile, and more. They also claim that their system will get rid of restrictions and confusion that is inherent to current mobile app stores. The folks at Mozilla are insanely confident about their project to kill off all app stores, saying that "in the interim period, apps will be very successful. Over time, the web will win because it always does." | | | | | N64 Emulator for iPhone! Zodttd has done it once again - adding another emulator for the iPhone with the release of n64iphone, a N64 emulator for the iPhone. It is an early release and doesn't support save states and landscape mode, but is actively being developed towards completion. The cost is $2.50 and it's available on Cydia right now. Extra features include compatibility with a Nintendo WiiMote via Bluetooth as an option instead of the on-screen iPhone controls! While Zoddtd is the first to release a N64 emulator for iPhone, he isn't the only one working on the project. We shared a preview of 3G4, an iPhone N64 emulator by NWorks Dev. While they don't have a version released yet, from the previews we have seen it looks like they are steadily working towards a finished version, complete with landscape mode! | | | | | This month’s featured theme is "x".
