Electronic Frontier Foundation
Take action with Credo to benefit EFF!

Hello again from EFF,

Thank you for your past activism in support of the Electronic Frontier Foundation. I'm writing to you with a way you can quickly support EFF's work and send EFF a some funds -- without spending a penny of your own money.

Each year, CREDO Mobile allows its customers to vote on how $3,000,000 in donations gets distributed to selected nonprofit organizations. This year, CREDO has expanded qualified voters to include anyone who has used its website's action center. EFF is one of the organizations on CREDO's 2009 nonprofit list, so by taking action on the CREDO website, you qualify to vote for EFF.

So, help EFF TIMES TWO by taking these two easy steps right now:

  1. Sign the Open Letter to President Obama. When President Obama took office, he promised to usher in a new era of government transparency, and instructed federal government agencies to comply with Freedom Of Information Act requests "promptly and in a spirit of cooperation.

Today, however, some of those agencies are working overtime to prevent the release of important records which deserve the sunlight of public scrutiny.

Sign our open letter to the President imploring him to be true to his commitment to an open and transparent government.

  2. Vote for EFF. After you sign the letter, vote for EFF. The 50 nonprofits on CREDO's 2009 list will divide $3,000,000 based on the percentage of votes received from CREDO customers and activists. CREDO will give you 100 points to vote -- give all 100 to EFF!

Please take action now. You'll not only be helping EFF with our FOIA work -- you'll also be helping to funnel substantial funds to EFF for our work defending online civil liberties wherever they are threatened.

Sincerely,

Tim Jones
